On November 11th, CHAMP Center had the privilege of welcoming Olympic gold medalist Alexis Holmes, the anchor for Team USA’s 4x400m relay team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. A Hamden, CT native, Alexis visited during a break in her training and engaged in a lively discussion with CHAMP Center Director Dr. Bill Lunn and Senior Scientist Dr. David Martin about her journey as an elite athlete and how she and her teammates could benefit from our services. During her visit, Alexis underwent a DEXA scan to evaluate her body composition and bone mineral density and had her quadricep and hamstring strength assessed using our Biodex Isokinetic Dynamometer. We were thrilled to host Alexis and wish her great success in her training this season!
