FAQs
Looking for quick answers? Browse our FAQs to learn more about the CHAMP Center and how we can support you.
01
How fit do I need to be to participate?
You don’t need to be highly fit to complete our assessments, though a basic level of physical activity helps. Each test is designed to measure how your body responds to exercise, not just your athletic performance, and can be safely adjusted to your current fitness level.
02
How do I prepare for my assessment?
Visit our Prepare page and select the assessment you’re scheduled for to review specific preparation guidelines. Some assessments, such as VO₂ Max, Lactate Threshold, Zone 2, Substrate Utilization, Wingate, and Gait Analysis, require forms to be completed in advance. These can be accessed on each assessment’s Prepare page. Please be sure to complete them prior to your appointment when applicable.
03
How do I request an appointment?
Start by exploring our Assessments page to find the option that best fits your needs. Once you’ve made your selection, visit our Pricing page, find your desired assessment, and submit a request for a date and time that works with your schedule. A member of our team will follow up promptly to confirm availability and finalize your appointment.
04
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check, and card payments. You may also pay in advance via our Marketplace.
05
Do you accept insurance?
We do not accept insurance. However, we do accept FSA/HSA payments by check (cards are not accepted for these payments at this time).
06
Where are you located?
We are located in Room 178 of the Health & Human Services Building on Southern Connecticut State University’s campus. For detailed directions, including parking and how to find us, please visit our Directions page under the “Contact” tab.
07
What is your refund and cancellation policy?
If for any reason you need to cancel your appointment, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance to receive a full refund. We do not offer refunds for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment.
08
