On Monday, November 25th, students from Staples High School in Westport, CT, visited the CHAMP Center for an engaging exploration of exercise science. The students eagerly participated in a variety of tests we offer, including DEXA scans and leg strength assessments using isokinetic dynamometry. Highlights of the day included a treadmill VO₂ max test, a lactate threshold test, and a gait analysis, with students gaining hands-on experience and detailed explanations of each assessment. To further their learning, the students took home data from their classmates’ tests for future analysis. We are always thrilled to inspire the next generation of exercise scientists through immersive laboratory experiences!
